Olimpbet Superleague. Dragana Cvijic: “In Russia the Championship is at a good level indeed! You have to go to the match with a serious attitude”

15 June 2022
Serbian line player Dragana Cvijic, who played the second part of the previous season for HC CSKA, in the interview with Handballfast to Nikita Kotov evaluated the level of the championship.

 - The level is really high here. Many good hanballers play in the Super League, and not only in the leading teams. I heard a lot about the local championship level before I came to Russia, up to that you can easily beat the opponent with a 10-ball advantage. Everything turned out to be different in reality. You have to go out for every match with a serious attitude, otherwise you risk becoming a co-author of some kind of a sensation. I don’t think the Super League level is so low, as some people speak about it.

It was interesting for me to play against all the teams, as the players are very well prepared, they know what to do on the pitch and can implement what they keep in mind. And I am more impressed when you have to fight for the result rather than when a notoriously weaker opponent comes against you as a crowd.

- Is there a chance to see you playing in Russia again?

- I hope to be here again. I told CSKA management the same while leaving the club, because I really liked being in Moscow. If I have an opportunity to come back here, I would not think twice, - said Cvijic.

The Serbian pivot will spend the new season in Hungarian HC Ferencvarosi TC.
