The head coach of the Russian national team Lyudmila Bodniyeva commented on the choice of team squad for October training session in Novogorsk.
— We follow our plan and, considering the circumstances, give the young players opportunity to get acquainted with the national team, prove themselves in new conditions, get motivation for further work. Of course, some handball players are called to the national team in advance. On the other hand, many of them have already managed to prove themselves in adult handball and deserve the invitation. We see the prospect in them, it’s our future.
Of course, we don’t forget about our more experienced players. At least ten players with experience of playing for the national team will claim getting into the squad, if we face official matches.
