— I am very pleased with the season in Stavropol, although we didn’t achieve the desired result. This year gave me so much, that a different coach won’t get during ten years. I’m grateful to the management of the club, that I was given an opportunity to show my abilities in coaching, transfer knowledges to the players, help Stavropol handball to grow. I am thankful to my guys, it was an extremely difficult season for them. Indeed, we had great games, there were defeats, but the main thing is that we played with all the heart, there was no indifference. It became interesting and memorable.
The team immediately took a good pace and held a hard bar throughout the season. The competitors treated Victor very responsibly, as a leader.
Perhaps, we didn’t completely believe, that we can accomplish such challenges. But I suppose, globally we made it work. I don’t want this work to stop.
I think, that guys from Stavropol, who fought on the court and supporters, who came to watch our matches, have significantly raised the bar of Russian handball as a whole. And it’s very important. Men’s handball became recognizable in Russia.
Of course, I cannot fail to thank our supporters. I adore their hearts and souls, they are very open and sincere people. I’m firmly convinced that they deserve not only gold medals, but diamond ones.
What’s next? I don’t know yet. Now I just have to exhale and figure out, what I want to do next. I have no thoughts at the moment.
One thing I can say for sure is that the season in Victor will remain with me forever as one of the best life periods. I’m thankful to all who was with me, who assisted and supported me along the way, — said in the statement.
