The coaching staff of the women’s national team headed by Lyudmila Bodniyeva determined the team composition for the coming training session.
The Russian national team will be training from 25 to 28 February. Then two team squads will play against the team of Belarus and Chinese Fenix at the Cup of Friendship in Moscow.

goalkeepers — Evelina Anoshkina, Anastasia Ryabtseva (both from HC Astrakhanochka), Polina Kaplina, Kira Trusova (both from CSKA);
left wings — Sofia Vasilyeva (Dinamo-Sinara), Marianna Egorova (Zvezda), Ekaterina Levchina (Kuban), Viktoria Shichkina (Astrakhanochka);
pivots — Alena Amelchenko (Lada), Olesya Goryacheva (Dinamo-Sinara), Anastasia Illarionova, Viktoria Shamanovskaya (both from CSKA);
right wings — Yulia Managarova (Rostov-Don), Albina Murzalieva (CSKA), Anastasia Starshova (Dinamo-Sinara), Olga Fomina (Lada);

— We will hold a training camp in such a large line-up for the first time. I suppose, that 28 handball players is the maximum amount in the organization of quality training process. We have tried to keep the balance between experienced and young players, but for objective reasons we won’t see on the session everyone we wanted to. For example, Anna Vyakhireva and Valeria Maslova are still recovering from recent injuries, and we didn’t call them, though I am in contact with both of them. I can say, that finally we didn’t count seven people from the original list. We will determine the composition of two squads for the tournament during the session. We are planning to compose the teams of approximately equal strength. We will focus primarily on defenders, I admit, it’s it’s more complicated to divide them, — the official HFR website quotes the words of Lyudmila Bodniyeva.
