The head coach of the national team of Russia Velimir Petkovic explained the reason for non-participation of Dmitriy Kiselev in the match with the youth team (41:22).
— Yesterday evening Dima felt some discomfort. The doctor advised not to risk. I suppose, Kiselev will be able to play with Iran tomorrow.
The head coach commented on the easy victory of the main team and noted:
— Obviously, the first team is stronger than the youth one. The goal of the national team was to tweak the actions in defense and to implement rapid counterattacks. I was pleased. I liked that the team played with desire.
— What is the main purpose for the Russian national team in the tournament?
— My only goal is to win. Either in workouts or in competitions. I never had complications with motivation during my work with the national team of Russia. We won’t have such a problem tomorrow as well, when we’ll face a strong team of Iran, which participated in the last World Cup and was among top-four teams in the championship of Asia.
