The Head of the HFR Sergey Shishkarev shared emotions after the completion of the Final Four of the Russian Cup, won by HC CSKA.
— I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the organizers, supporters and participants of this Final Four. In my opinion, there was a great atmosphere of support for the teams. We had a dream that handball with a capital letter would come back to Saint-Petersburg, and it worked out completely.
Concerning the final match, probably, we expected a little more struggle instead of a scenario, where CSKA defeated Zenit, the difference on the scoreboard speaks for itself. Perhaps, it was more complicated for Zenit to prepare for the final, taking into consideration the fact that the rival in the semi-finals was more difficult. However, again, Chekhovskie Medvedi lost to SKIF in the match for the third place. But still, Zenit had less time to prepare.
I remember the match at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, when our girls played with Norway in the semi-finals. That meeting was held after another semi-finals and our team lacked strength for the final match.
