SEHA-Gazprom League. Player of SKA Minsk Dmitry Kamyshyk: "If Zenit had been in the Final Four, the tribunes would have been full"

33-year-old left back of SKA Minsk Dmitry Kamyshk answered the questions of Handballfast editor-in-chief Alexey Lebedev about SEHA-League tournament in general and about the Final Four in Saint-Petersburg in particular.

 — How satisfied are you with the Final Four? And with the results of the team’s performance in SEHA-League, taking into account the whole season?

 — It so happened, that three teams from our group reached the Final Four. So, we had to play with Chekhov again. We beat Chekhovskie medvedi from the third attempt, and it’s the reason to be satisfied with the trip.

Clearly, you always want more, moreover, we could have beat Brest. It was barely enough for win, just one ball… Yes, I had a chance to level the score, when I threw after regular time from 9 meters. Unfortunately, I failed, though at the end of first half the same trick succeeded. Oh, I wish I scored at the end, when we needed the goal most!

Taking into consideration SEHA-League in general, we weren’t prepared in the best way at the beginning of the season, but progressed during it. There were failures, as you remember: with Gomel, we lost to Permskie medvedi at home, though we beat them later… What to say, handball is wonderful, because you can’t predict everything. It’s a game, much depends on luck.

We realized, that we will face CSKA or Zenit in the first round of play-off, we knew, that we are able to beat both competitors. And we did it with Muscovites! Though, to put it mildly, the matches turned out to be difficult, at some point we were losing quite a lot in Moscow. But then that luck was on our side.

And in the final it turned away from us, and the tribunes were mainly supporting Brest…

 — How did you find the level of organization of the Final Four and the tournament in general? What do you expect from the next season, what would you change?

 — I was on several Final Four matches, it was always exciting. This time everything was great as well. The only thing that could have been improved is a bigger audience, like Veszprem has, where the viewers support the team greatly. On the other hand, sometimes there were fewer spectators…

I suppose, it’s a great advantage, when supporters of each participating team have an opportunity to come. But let me note once again, probably, if Zenit had played, the tribunes would have been full. I think, it’s not worth changing much, there are no questions to SEHA-League as a whole, everyone understands the situation. The organizers had done everything possible in the first season for West division in the current conditions.
