Centre back Aleksandr Arkatov shared impressions on the tournament in Iranian Shiraz as a whole and on the final match of the Russian national team with the hosts, lost with a score of 30:34.
He became the most resultative player of our team in the match with Iran with five scored goals.
— Of course, it was a pity to lose to Iran and present the first place to the national team of Belarus. Little was done in defense, unfortunately, we allowed a large number of exclusions. We played play twice in the number of four. We tried to play hard but not rough. The Iranians were not excluded in similar situations in most cases. At the same time we could have scored much more, the goalkeeper of the rivals ofter saved. And the realization failed on our part. And there should have been less losses.
At the same time it was an invaluable experience to play in Shiraz. I would like to thank the management of the HFR and the coaching staff for the opportunity to play in such a tournament.
It was interesting to visit this country. Personally, I hadn’t been to Iran before. Mountains, beautiful views, friendly people — everything will remain in our memories. It’s a pity that we didn’t win in the final match, — Arkatov told the HFR press service.
