The Handball Federation of Russia delegation represented by the General Director Lev Voronin and the head of press service of the HFR Igor Vladimirov was on a two-day visit in Saratov.
The HFR press service informs, that a working meeting was held during this visit involving the governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin and the sports minister of the region Oleg Dubovenko. The parties discussed actual issues on the development of handball in the region and stages of building of new sports arena. This project will be implemented within the framework of mutual cooperation between the government of the Saratov region and the HFR. The performance of the local club SGAU-Saratov was on the agenda as well.
— We are very grateful to the Handball Federation of Russia for the consensus we have reached. We are planning to organize a great sports area in Zavodsky district of Saratov. The city managed to preserve the patch of land for this project, a large handball hall with two courts and a palace of combat sport are planned to be placed there. On our part, I would like to confirm the intention of full support for this project and great interest in its development, — Busargin said.
The HFR delegation headed the place of future construction of the sports complex in Zavodsky district of Saratov. Excellent geographical position in a densely populated area will contribute to the fact that many local people will have an opportunity to attend handball matches and monitor further progress and development of HC SGAU-Saratov.
The working meeting with one of potential contractors, which will focus directly on the construction of future sports facilities, became the next stage of the visit.
— We are grateful to the governor of the Saratov region Roman Busargin for productive cooperation. It is very important for us to implement this idea and build a modern handball arena, which will not only become a home for SGAU-Saratov, but will also provide opportunity for handball training to local children of all ages. The arena will have the capacity of 1100 seats. We expect that we will manage to build a sort of House of Handball, able to give new impetus to development of our sport in the Saratov region, since handball traditions in Saratov and the love of local supporters for the club SGAU-Saratov clearly show that handball is very important for the city and the whole region, — Voronin said.
