The head coach of beach Dinamo from Volgograd Anna Sidoricheva commented on the victory in the women’s championship of Russia.
— It is my dream, a sign of a long-term work and pride for girls. It is love to handball, beach handball, whole Volgograd handball. Goosebumps and tears. It is a dream! I’m in beach handball since 2008 and I have always wanted to be the first! We’ve placed second and third. We’ve been preparing the squad. But the players were constantly leaving. Two years ago Lyzhina and Shapovalova moved to Stavropol. Zotina left for the same Stavropol even earlier. And we were never able to beat Stavrpolye, the multiple champions of Russia. Indeed, Chernomorochka is a debutant in the Russian beach handball. But we know that there are many former players from Stavropol in this club. That is why we defeated two competitor at once — Stavropol and Novorossiysk. It’s our very important success. Girls coped with it! We are the champions!
— The victory wasn’t easy. Not everything was smooth in the final tour. Certain things didn’t work out at first.
— Of course, our age has an impact. Our team is the youngest in the championship. Girls aged 17 form 70 percent of our line-up. Concerning the same Chernomorochka, their girls are ten years older than us. Experience and skill are on their side, but our youthful exuberance prevailed today. After the first meeting with Novorossiysk in the group, which we lost in shootout and where the emotions sometimes poured over the edge, today I tried to keep girls calm and urged them not to respond to rudeness. I asked the players to perform clean, show everything that we managed to prepare — beautiful block, goals, all things we love beach handball for. And I also told them to devote this match to something or someone. I suppose, it bore fruit as well, — the press service of Dinamo quotes Anna Sidoricheva.
