The men’s handball national team of Russia continues training on the session in Sochi, which started on July, 24. The team is working on Yug-Sports base, which provides all conditions for comfort preparation, including modern gym, stadium and swimming pool. 22 players were called to the national team, including young athletes from the youth national team.
The head coach of the national team Lev Voronin noted that workouts are focused on basic elements practicing and interactions development between the players because many of them got together for the first time.
The goalkeeper Vadim Kondratenko also talked about his impressions of the training session:
— We train twice a day and I managed to see my wife on my day off, who is also a handball player and was on the training session with HC Kuban in Adler. The conditions on the base are great — good food, gym, stadium. The weather in Sochi doesn’t surprise me, since I’m from Krasnodar and used to the heat.
The right wing Nikita Larin said that the attention during workouts is payed to passes and defensive actions, that is particularly useful for his position. «Lev Gennadyevich clearly explains everything and suggests something during workouts. The atmosphere in the team is welcoming, many players have already met at different levels. The training session is short, unfortunately, but it’s a great opportunity to prove yourself, — Larin said.
