The Serbian back player of HC Voronezh Aleksandar Vujnic told the club’s press service about his preparation for the season.
— We run and jump a lot. And spend hours on it. The workouts are both difficult and long. I’ve played in many places, but I had never had such a hard preparation for the season.
— Have you already discussed your role in the team with the head coach?
— Not yet, but I’m sure, he will convey his thoughts to me and explain what does he want to see on the court. The coach seeks several languages, if I’m not mistaken. It’s great. And generally, handball is not a very complicated game. Everything will be fine, you’ll see.
— What is your main impression from Russia?
— I didn’t expect, that everything is organized so professionally. I don’t know, how to explain, it’s a long story… I’m not speaking about the conditions for restoring. It is quite normal to have a swimming pool, sauna and other certain things in the hotel at the training session. But the approach to training is great — it’s impossible to explain if you are not a player or a coach.
— It seems, you are already happy to be here. And why did you initially decided to accept this offer?
— I spent several past years in Arabic countries. There is its own specificity, but I had a desire to change the scenery. You know, the lifestyle is a bit different there. And I wanted something close to me. And the alternative opportunity with Voronezh appeared. Russia is close to us Serbs. We are called brothers for a certain reason.
