The Chairman of the High Council of the Handball Federation of Russia Sergey Shishkarev in an interview to the HFR official web-site summarized the results of Olimpbet Super Series matches in March between the national teams of Russia and Belarus.
The matches were held in Kazan, Moscow and Chekhov. The national team of Russia won twice and ceded to the competitors from Belarus one time.
— Last week we witnessed an exciting confrontation of two principal rivals — the national teams of Russia and Belarus — which took place in the format of Super Series of three matches. The Handball Federation of Russia intends to continue the practice of holding status games in regions. Both Kazan and Chekhov perfectly coped with the organization of the matches, and I would like to thank the regional leaders, local Ministry of Sports and Federations, handball clubs Zilant and Chekhovskie medvedi, as well as supporters, who made a great atmosphere in the strands. The attendance in Moscow turned out to be not so high, but we were prepared for it since the capital provides a huge selection of sports and cultural events. I’m happy that the national team of Russia celebrated victory twice and was close to a hat-trick.
In the middle of August big handball will come to Astrakhan, where two friendly matches between the women’s national teams of Russia and Belarus will be held, and it will also be a holiday for numerous supporters of Astrakhan region!— Sergey Shishkarev said.
