The leaders of the Handball Federation of Russia Sergey Shishkarev and the Chinese Handball Association Wang Tao held a working meeting in Beijing on Monday, 20 March.
The presidents of the organizations discussed a wide range of issues, the official HFR website informs. One of the main topics was the preparation of the national team of China for the Asian Games, which will be held in autumn. The agreements were also reached on the visit of the Russian national team to China.
— Overall, we are pleased with the way the cooperation between our handball federations takes place within a year and a half. Practically everything we plan to do is carried out.
The handball players of Fenix gain experience in the Russian championship, while the men’s team plays in the Belarusian strongest division. We will develop the contacts at the level of national teams, and if logistics allows, we will send the women’s national team to China in August for training session and friendly matches.
I consider the cooperation in the field of children handball very important. We will be happy to see Chinese teams at the Handball festival in Togliatti in June, which will be held for the 21st time. Colleagues from China set a challenge of creating an Academy of handball, our specialists will provide them with the necessary support on all issues, — Shishkarev summed up the meeting.
