The Head of the HFR Sergey Shishkarev congratulated the players of HC Zenit and HC CSKA on winning gold medals of the national championship.
HC Zenit won the men’s Super League, HC CSKA became the winner of the women’s tournament.
— I congratulate the champions of the country. Primarily, Zenit which won gold medals in a very tough three-match confrontation after 32 years. It’s the new club’s victory. Many efforts have been made to help the club be accepted into a large sports family. It’s a significant victory in the context of the club’s 100th anniversary. We saw the representatives of this project happy.
The female confrontation wasn’t less exciting. It became really traditional. CSKA and Rostov-Don played the championship. The additional intrigue was that CSKA was dropped out of the Cup of Russia at the preliminary stage. This added intrigue and fighting spirit.
