The Council of the International Handball Federation made a decision to hold several important tournaments in China next year.
China will host the 10th youth (U-18) World Cup in 2024. This decision is notable for the fact that the tournament will be held in Asia for the first time. And it is only the third time in the history of the championship that it will be held outside Europe. The previous cases were tournaments in Canada in 2006 and in Dominican Republic in 2010.
Moreover, the 11th Beach Handball World Championships among men and women will also be held in China in 2024. For the first time since 2014, the World Beach Handball Championship will take place outside Europe.
