Russia. Yevgeni Trefilov about Vladlena Bobrovnikova: "I have always treated her great. I wish her to overcome it and live a long life"

22 July 2023
Former head coach of the national team of Russia, the deputy chairman of the HFR High Council Yevgeni Trefilov wished Vladlena Bobrovnikova health.
 — She ended her career in the status of Olympic champion, as every great athlete should. I have always treated her well. First of all, I wish her health and I hope everything will be fine in the family. It’s difficult to live away from sport after career ending. I was crying when, figuratively speaking, I was carried off the court. And I was just a master of sports of Soviet Union, while they got to the top. It’s hard to give it all up.
I wish her to recover and live a long life. A person doesn’t understand that he appeared on the Earth to live until he comes under pressure.  I was pinned down, that I started to remember immediately, what I hadn’t completed, — TASS quotes the words of Trefilov.
To recall, 35-year-old Bobrovnikova finished her playing career and is receiving treatment after being diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma. Under the guidance of Trefilov the left back became the Olympic champion of Rio 2016.
