HC Rostov-Don press service announced the arrival of a new head coach. Irina Dibirova became the head trainer of vice-champions of Russia.
As a player Dibirova (Poltoratskaya) won three times in the World championships, took silver of the Olympic Games in Beijing and won the trophy of the Champions League three times. In 1997-2000 Irina played for HC Istochnik Rostov and spent the 2000/2001 season in HC Rostselmash. In 2017-2018 Dibirova was heading RK Vardar, with which she reached the final of the Champions League twice.
Irina Igorevna will join HC Rostov-Don 17 July, when the team will be back from vacation.
— I received the offer in winter. It was unexpectedly and exciting, since Rostov-Don is not just a club for me. It is the team of a very high level and one of the best not only in Russia, but in Europe as well.
It’s a big step for me. I realize, that it’s necessary to work hard for it. The character of this city and this club influenced my decision most of all. I see how professionally the leadership and management treat their work.
I like the girl’s team very much. Maybe, this may appear too emotional or confusing for someone, but I like this mixture of experience and young and talented players. There are all prerequisites for doing this work together, so the offer was accepted, — Dibirova commented the appointment.
