The national team of Russia completed the friendly match series against the team of Belarus in Minsk. The head coach of the Russian team Lyudmila Bodniyeva stated that both matches were an important stage of preparation:
— We managed to reach the objectives entirely. We implemented everything on the court we’ve been working on during the training session. It was important for us to gather in this line-up, — Bodniyeva said.
She also evaluated the rival’s performance and noted that she had expected a more serious struggle on the part of the Belarusian national team:
— The team of Belarus offered worthy resistance, but, probably, we expected stronger fight from them. I wouldn’t focus on the difference in the score. We held two different matches.
At the same time the coach admitted that it’s difficult to objectively assess the current level of the team due to the limited level of available competitors:
— Unfortunately, due to the lack of higher number of rivals we can’t say what level we are on. At the same time we are happy that we have an opportunity to exchange such visits with the national team of Belarus.
